Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) is a state public university established by the Government of NCT of Delhi in 2008 through the Ambedkar University Delhi Act.^[1] AUD is a unitary, non-affiliating university, unlike Delhi University, it does not have affiliated colleges. All teaching and examination happens within AUD itself.

The university is accredited with NAAC A grade and has appeared in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.^[6] AUD enrolls approximately 2,979 students (1,509 UG, 1,300 PG, 170 doctoral) with 168 academic staff across 13 schools and 8 centres.^[2] AUD’s founding mission emphasises research-led teaching in the liberal arts, humanities, and social sciences, areas that are often underfunded at other state universities.
