Overview
IIM Rohtak’s Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) is a 5-year dual-degree programme (BBA + MBA) that admits students directly after Class XII.[1] Launched in 2019, the IPM at IIM Rohtak is newer than IIM Indore’s equivalent but carries the IIM brand.
Why it’s in this guide: Like IIM Indore IPM, IIM Rohtak IPM is frequently cross-shopped by students considering liberal arts universities. The programme is management-focused, not liberal arts, but appeals to the same decision-making audience.
IIM Rohtak is a newer IIM (established 2009) that has been building its reputation and infrastructure. The 200-acre campus in Rohtak, Haryana, provides a residential academic environment about 70 km from Delhi.

IIM Rohtak’s 200-acre campus is in Rohtak, Haryana, approximately 70 km from Delhi. The campus is purpose-built with modern academic blocks, hostels, library, sports complex, and amphitheatre. The campus is fully residential.
Rohtak is a tier-2 city in Haryana. The campus is self-contained, but the city offers limited urban amenities compared to metro locations. The Delhi-Rohtak highway provides connectivity to the capital.
Who Applies Here
IIM Rohtak IPM attracts students who want an IIM pathway but find IIM Indore IPM’s cutoffs too competitive. The programme is newer and marginally less selective than IIM Indore’s, but still carries the IIM brand.
Students compare IIM Rohtak IPM with IIM Indore IPM (more established), IIM Ranchi/Bodh Gaya IPM, SRCC (DU), and private alternatives like Ashoka or Jindal. The IIM brand is the key differentiator.[2]
At ~INR 6.2-6.6 lakh/year (foundation years), the fee is comparable to IIM Indore. Total 5-year cost is significant.
Things to Verify Before Applying
- Newer programme: IIM Rohtak’s IPM launched in 2019. Graduating batches are very limited. Ask for placement data from the earliest cohorts.
- IPM AT exam: IIM Rohtak uses its own IPM Aptitude Test (IPM AT), separate from IIM Indore’s IPM AT. Check the exam format and schedule.
- Rohtak location: Rohtak is 70 km from Delhi. The campus is self-contained but the city is a tier-2 town. Visit to assess.
- Fee for MBA years: Years 4-5 fees will be higher. Budget for the full 5-year cost.
- IIM brand recognition: IIM Rohtak is a newer IIM. While the brand is strong, placement outcomes may differ from top-tier IIMs like Indore.
