What Queen’s University Belfast GIFT City is

Queen’s University Belfast GIFT City is the India campus of Queen’s University Belfast (QUB), a Russell Group research university founded in 1845 and ranked 199th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and 198th by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026. The campus opened in January 2026 and is the first Russell Group university to establish a physical presence in GIFT City — India’s International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Gujarat.

Students at this campus earn the same UK master’s degree conferred by Queen’s University Belfast in Belfast, without relocating internationally. The campus operates under the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) regulatory framework, which governs foreign university campuses within India’s GIFT City special economic zone.

Queen’s Management School, which delivers the business and finance programmes, holds triple accreditation from AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS — placing it in the top 1% of business schools globally according to the brochure.

Who it’s for

The GIFT City campus is aimed primarily at Indian graduates who want a UK-recognised master’s degree in finance, analytics, artificial intelligence, or construction management without the cost and visa requirements of studying abroad. All programmes are full-time and one year in duration. The January 2026 intake is already operational; September 2026 entry is also open.

The location in GIFT City is deliberate: the SEZ is home to Indian and international financial institutions including JP Morgan, HSBC, and Tata, providing proximity to financial sector employers. Students interested in FinTech, banking, data science applied to finance, AI, or construction project management are the target audience.

Campus and infrastructure

The campus is located within GIFT City, Gujarat — India’s first IFSC — situated between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. The SEZ environment means students are in close physical proximity to financial and technology firms operating in the zone. The brochure does not specify the total campus area or building capacity.

Queen’s also runs a “Global Accelerator Programme” — a three-week international experiential learning programme available to students — and a dedicated “Queen’s Graduate Jobs India” initiative offering career coaching, targeted job matching, and employer introductions for master’s graduates.
