SRM University AP, established in 2017 in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, is a separate institution from SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM Chennai/KTR).^[1] The university operates as a fully residential campus with a liberal arts and sciences model that distinguishes it from the larger SRM system.

SRM AP’s 200-acre campus in Neerukonda, Amaravati, is a purpose-built residential campus designed by Perkins+Will (international architecture firm), with modern green infrastructure. The campus includes smart classrooms, research labs, a central library, hostels, and recreational facilities.

Amaravati is approximately 12 km from Vijayawada and is Andhra Pradesh’s developing capital region. The location is quieter than metropolitan alternatives, which suits a residential academic environment but limits off-campus internship opportunities.

SRM AP attracts students from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana who want a residential liberal arts experience without relocating to northern India. The university’s SRM brand recognition (from the larger SRM system) provides some familiarity, though SRM AP operates independently.
