What Shri Ram College of Commerce is

Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) is a constituent college of the University of Delhi, located on the North Campus in Maurice Nagar, New Delhi. Founded in 1926 by Sir Shri Ram, the college is accredited NAAC A++ with a CGPA of 3.75 (SRCC NAAC). It is ranked 18th among colleges in the NIRF 2025 rankings and has been consistently rated the #1 commerce college in India by India Today (2025) and Outlook (2024) (SRCC Recruitment Brochure 2025-26).

SRCC offers two undergraduate programs — B.Com (Hons) and BA (Hons) Economics — along with postgraduate programs in M.Com, MA Economics, and a PG Diploma in Global Business Operations (GBO). All undergraduate admissions are through CUET-UG scores, following Delhi University’s centralised admission process.

The college campus spans approximately 16 acres. The main building, a heritage structure dating to 2006-07 with a distinctive red-brick facade and clock tower, was declared a Heritage Building. The campus houses a library with over 70,000 volumes, a computer centre, seminar rooms, an indoor stadium named after alumnus Arun Jaitley, two gymnasiums, a physiotherapy centre, and separate hostels for men and women (SRCC GBO Prospectus 2026).

In 2026, SRCC is celebrating its centenary year — 100 years since its founding.

Who it’s for

SRCC draws students who want a commerce or economics education from India’s most recognised institution in these fields. The annual batch size is approximately 1,095 students (875 in B.Com Hons and 220 in BA Economics Hons, per the 2025-26 recruitment brochure).

The typical SRCC student aims for careers in consulting, investment banking, FMCG, tax and audit, or chartered accountancy. SRCC alumni hold senior positions at firms like McKinsey, BCG, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and Deloitte. The college’s placement cell reported 520+ offers from 115+ recruiters in the 2024-25 season (SRCC Recruitment Brochure 2025-26).

Students who want to pursue CA alongside their degree will find SRCC’s B.Com (Hons) curriculum and placement cell’s Articleship recruitment particularly relevant — the cell facilitates articleship placements with Big Four firms and other CA firms. Students targeting higher education frequently gain admission to institutions such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad, LSE, Oxford, Harvard Business School, and Stanford.

Applicants should note that SRCC is a day college. Hostel accommodation is limited and not guaranteed — students from outside Delhi should plan for alternative housing arrangements.

Things to verify before applying

  • CUET-UG scores required: SRCC admits through CUET-UG. General category cutoffs for B.Com (Hons) and BA Economics (Hons) have historically been among the highest in DU (900+ on the CUET scale in 2024-25). Confirm current cutoffs on the DU admissions portal.
  • Fee structure: UG fees are approximately ₹32,420 per year (Delhi University rates). The GBO program is self-financed at approximately ₹1,60,000 per year. Confirm current fees at srcc.edu.
  • Hostel availability: Hostel seats are limited and not guaranteed. Plan for private accommodation if coming from outside Delhi.
  • Placement participation: The placement cell is active, but students pursuing CA articleship or higher education may not participate in campus placements. Understand what the 520+ offer figure includes.
  • GBO program status: The GBO is a PG Diploma, not an MBA or master’s degree. Verify recognition and career outcomes separately from the UG programs.
